Jacqueline Broad is an Associate Professor of Philosophy at Monash University, Melbourne. Her main area of research is women's philosophy of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. She is currently working on a project on the philosophical foundations of women's rights prior to the enlightenment. Her most recent publications include The Philosophy of Mary Astell (OUP 2015), Women and Liberty, 1600-1800 (co-edited with Karen Detlefsen; OUP 2017), and a two-volume edited collection of women's philosophical letters, Women Philosophers of Seventeenth-Century England: Selected Correspondence (OUP 2019) and Women Philosophers of Eighteenth-Century England: Selected Correspondence (OUP 2020).
