The Metaphysics of Body, Sociopolitical Order, and Systematic Thinking in the Philosophy of Margaret Cavendish at APA Central

The CNNP will host a session at the Central Division on the new Oxford New Histories of Philosophy’s publication on the works of Margaret Cavendish. The session will be chaired by Colin Chamberlain (Temple University). Marcy Lascano (University of Kansas) will present the first session paper titled “Occasional Causation and the Metaphysics of Freedom” and Alison Peterman (University of Rochester) will follow with “Holism and causation in Cavendish.” Brandie Siegfried (Brigham Young University) will discuss “Margaret Cavendish's Epictetus: Subtle Matter and the Poverty of Wealth.​” The session will end with a response by the author of the volume David Cunning (University of Iowa).
